Fudge Fiends

You have to love it, whether it be in milk, or dark, or white, thought I would share these funnies I found out about this addictive dessert.

-Where does chocolate come from? Actually, it DOES grow on trees. It all starts with a small tropical tree, the Theobroma cacao, usually called simply, "cacao." (Pronounced ka-KOW. Theobroma is Greek for "food of the gods.") Cacao is native to Central and South America, but it is grown commercially throughout the tropics. About 70% of the world's cacao is grown in Africa.

-In the 17Th Century, the first recorded case of “Death by Chocolate” occurred.

-Although chocolate is not an aphrodisiac, it contains phenylethylamine(PEA), a natural substance that is reputed to state the same reaction in the body as falling in love. Hence, heartbreak and loneliness are reasons for over-indulgence of this sweet treat.

-Chocolate syrup was used for blood in the 45 second shower scene in "Psycho" by Alfred Hitchcock.

-Chocolate can be lethal to dogs.

-It has over 500 flavour components!

-Chocolate has great health benefits. It helps with depression, high blood pressure, Tumors and Pre-menstrual syndromes.

-Milk Chocolate is the most preferred type of chocolate, however dark chocolate is especially popular among men.

And last of all, and probably the nastiest.....

--The average chocolate bar has 8 insect legs in it. They just get in through the process of making the chocolate.

(Actually, this IS a myth, I just found it, and thought I would share.)

  1. Gee. thanks a lot hon, now I am craving chocolate........

  2. I was going to swear off chocolate(would have been good for me)until you said the insect legs thing was a myth.

  3. Ok, somebody give me chocolate, Love reading your blog but I think this one may make me add a few pounds lol j/k. But I'd love some chocolate right now.
